Corinne West (wrap-up)

Here's a wrap-up of Corinne West's visit to the Tree House (pictures of that night):
  • Corinne hails from Quincy, up in Plumas County, which makes the story she told of that old gandydancer even better.

  • Corinne had just returned from a tour of Georgia. Southern hospitality aside, Corrine was very glad to playing our place, her first show back in California.

  • Corinne's bass player was Joshua Zucker, who brought great rhythm but also some wonderful harmonies.

  • Her guitar player was Jim Lewin, who I've seen play with Tree House artist Sherry Austin. He was a ringer, for sure, and he added some backing vocals as well. Jim's a member of Harmony Grits, the bluegrass band that first inspired Gillian Welch!

  • Corinne's manager, Sara Mertz, turned out to have a Hawaiian connection. She grew up on Oahu and left for the Mainland after high school.

  • Fred Monroe and his finance Sharon came up from Atascadero. They're planning to start up a house concert series in October called Música Del Río. Looks like Corinne might be stopping by their house in the near future!
