Roost House
Juliet and I finally attended our first concert at Roost House in Carmel Valley, and what a great night it was!
We got see two of our favorites, Chris Webster & Nina Gerber, close up and very intimate (Nina dropped by our house back in 2006). The room was big, the sound was amazing, and the vibes were good.

Many thanks to Audrey Morris and Adam Zerbe for creating such an inviting setting in their home! I got to meet and talk to Audrey at our Stevie Coyle concert in December, and both she and Adam visited our home in January for Chuck Brodsky.
Although they only started holding concerts this year, it felt like they've been doing it for a long time. They had booked a handful of acts and by all accounts folks are having a good time, but Chris & Nina really got my attention to attend.
As it turns out, Adam (who is Audrey's son) was a local realtor by day but also the founder and president of 4th Street Records, a small music label with a couple of emerging artists. It's pretty clear Adam has had some experience doing this concert thing, and from his 4th Street Records web site you can even see him performing!

I would get on their mailing list, because they are mixing an ambitious booking schedule of national touring artists, their own label artists, and even emerging artists around the Monterey Bay. Although they are going to slow down the pace of booking (and we know that temptation!), I'm particularly looking forward to the May 1st show featuring the brand new local band, Honeymoon, which features my friend and co-worker Christina Bailey from her band Big American Family.
